Judy Granger is the owner/manager of La Grange Naturals, established in 2016. She is a Soaper as called in the industry and makes handmade, natural bath and body products. Due to her own health complications, Judy sought to rid herself of excess chemicals by creating a line of all natural skin care products. Here is what she told Health Plus in a recent interview.

How did you get started in the health industry?

I got started in this industry due to my own health challenges and being my mother’s caregiver (she is ninety-five years old). I decided to use my free time wisely and so, the idea to create a business that would aid all ages came to mind. A few years ago I was diagnosed with first stage cancer and I had a procedure done—called a colposcopy. Since then, I have decided to take care of myself by eating and feeding my cells with proper nutrition. Every year I try to follow up with my pap smear and mammogram and it’s always in the normal range.

I have a pacemaker (for six years now) so I try to focus on my health in a holistic manner.

What is your philosophy on health?

My philosophy on health is living a fulfilling and meaningful life through conscious and Bible directed behaviors, focused on living to my fullest potential. As 3 John verse 2 says: “Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperity.”

Why did you choose Arima as the base for your skin care line?

I chose Arima as it’s my home away from home. Additionally, I chose the borough so that I can give my services to my aged mother who lives there and to help my community live a healthier lifestyle while I manage my business.

What impact have the soaps, scrubs and lotions had on the community?

My store has impacted the lives of my neighbors, friends and other people in the community. By helping them to understand proper nutrition, environmental issues and personal care, they can use the information I share about my products and thus I get a lot of referrals, which have helped me to increase awareness for my brand.

What are your plans for the future?

I’d like to educate more people on using all-natural skin care products. I’m also focusing on getting it on the international market as a means of bringing awareness to health and wellness globally.

I consider myself fortunate as I get to do what I love, my identity is tied to the passion and chemistry involved. I do what I’m good at I can get paid for it. In turn, I’m doing what the world needs. This is the fulfilment I get from my profession.
